LiPo & TuFu

Guardians

LiPo and TuFu are our big, cute Dobermans. They keep the nuisance at bay. They are friendly once we introduce you to them. Then they’ll be greedy for your pats or even give you space if you ask them to wait. We feel safe with our dobbies around us. We absolutely love them to bits.

Prakash

Kaka

We lovingly and respectfully call Prakash as Kaka. He is an old rock that stands sturdy on the farm. His many years of experience comes in handy on the farm and his age-old remedies do wonders for us. Rain or shine, you’ll always be greeted by him with an old, stained smile.

Mother-and-Stories-People-Sidharth.JPG

Siddharth

Sidhu

Siddharth has been in love with food since his grandmother cooked for him. His love and honesty towards authentic Malwani food makes him labour hard with that love shining in every morsel. He understands that the secret to a sterling Malwani meal lies in the purity of produce grown by grassroots farmers. He champions recipes passed down through generations and will always be happy to serve a little more.

Our Farm

Our farm, our home and us are all intertwined. We feel a sense of belonging to each other. We really feel happy when we plant something new and all of us plant in with all our positive energies. We feel happy when we find new saplings growing under existing trees or when we find random wild trees growing in random places. As we sit observing the wonder, the farm is our reality check that we are part of nature, we are one with nature and not separate. We find peace in its calm, in the swaying of its branches and the rustling of its leaves. The slow pace of everything around feels soothing and many a times even healing. It is amazing how doing nothing just makes you feel so complete.

We love that we are surrounded by such a large variety of birds and animals, all wild. We don’t spot all of them many a times, but we find small hidden traces of their existence and it makes us feel honoured that they chose our farm, to exist with us.

We are really pleased that we can share this little, isolated, quiet part of our world with you and experience precious time together in the lap of nature. To sit still together and observe the magic of slow living.

Come, breathe a little deeper, listen a little longer and connect with what truly matters - nature, people, your own self and the quiet joy of simply being.

OUR STORY

Our story started when I became a Mother in Mumbai. I expected my life to change but it changed way beyond I imagined and it changed for good.

I found Motherhood very unromantic and extremely practical. Loving my children was obvious but the caution, alertness and long-term thinking and questioning that came along with it, for every detail in life, was something unexpected.

The air, the water, the food, anything and everything that would interact with my children, short term or long term mattered to me and it felt unsuitable for my babies.

Covid gave us an opportunity as a family to move to my husband’s hometown in Konkan. And then there was no looking back!

I met the most amazing lineage of farmers who farmed sustainably using heirloom seeds. Everything tasted good made on wood fired stoves, hand ground, hand processed. The air felt crisp and the water never tasted as sweet. The kids played, explored, ate well, got tired and slept like two logs.

That’s when I saw my kids the happiest and found myself not questioning over every detail. It all felt right.

This inspired me to start Mother and Stories where I could share the goodness of food with Poshan that our grandparents recommended with you all. As a Mother, we always want the best for our kids and many times we don’t know where to find it. With Mother and Stories, I wanted all Mothers to have easy access to the best Artisanal Superfood Poshan for her children.

The products are made from such basic ancient recipes where the hero is the ingredient and not some complex secret recipe.

Our mission is to facilitate moms to provide their children the best Artisanal Superfood Poshan that is all natural, indigenous, handmade in a remarkably easy way.
